People who submitted an application at a NADRA Centre can now download the finished certificate straight from the app, instead of going back to collect it in person.

Pakistan’s freelance sector depends heavily on digital account opening and identity checks. The State Bank of Pakistan already allows freelancer accounts to be opened through digital channels under its existing framework, and identity documents remain a core part of that process.

Having faster access to a verified NADRA certificate can help when opening an account or responding to a verification request. It does not, however, guarantee approval from an international platform. Each bank or fintech company sets its own KYC rules, so a NADRA certificate is one piece of the process, not a shortcut around it.

Free Proof of Life: The Bigger Story for Pensioners

This is arguably a bigger change than the app update itself. Eligible pensioners can now complete Proof of Life from home through PakID.

Those who cannot manage the app themselves have an option too. An immediate family member can complete the process through their own PakID account, subject to the required identity checks.

Physical channels remain open for anyone who prefers them. NADRA lists more than 5,000 e Sahulat franchises, over 988 Registration Centres and 500 Union Councils, along with mobile vans and door to door registration teams for people with limited mobility.

Why the Proof of Life Reform Runs Deeper Than an App

NADRA has linked this change to a new National Pensioners Register. The first phase covers pensioners under the Controller General of Accounts and the Military Accountant General.

Banks can now check a pensioner’s Proof of Life status through a dedicated digital channel, cutting down on repeated paper verification. NADRA says the register will expand to more federal and provincial bodies once arrangements are finalised.

Vehicle Services and Subsidy Programmes: Separating Fact From Speculation

4. Check the PakID Vault

Verified documents may already be sitting in your Vault, ready to view or download.

5. Book an appointment if verification fails
