🇬🇧 UK to Issue New Passports Featuring King Charles’ Royal Emblem from December
London (October 2025) — The United Kingdom has officially announced that new British passports will be issued from December 2025, featuring King Charles III’s royal insignia and a refreshed design reflecting the new era of the monarchy.
According to British media reports, the updated passports will proudly display the Tudor Crown, which forms part of King Charles III’s official royal cypher. The Tudor Crown replaces the St. Edward’s Crown that appeared on official documents, symbols, and insignias during Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.
The UK Home Office has also revealed a new passport design, showcasing Britain’s iconic landscapes, cultural heritage, and natural beauty. This marks the first major redesign of the British passport since the transition of the monarchy.
Officials have clarified that passports bearing Queen Elizabeth II’s emblem will remain valid until their expiry dates. Since 2023, however, all newly printed passports have already been issued under the name of His Majesty King Charles III.
With this update, the British government continues to align national symbols — including banknotes, coins, and passports — with the reign of King Charles, symbolizing a new chapter in the United Kingdom’s royal history.
